Job Overview

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis (3 days per week) supporting a child with complex Autism in a primary school in Brent. This role focuses on providing tailored, 1:1 support to help the child access learning and develop social and emotional skills. Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with complex SEND, particularly Autism, in a school setting.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with the child, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs.
  • Be proactive and adaptable, with the ability to tailor support to meet the child's evolving needs.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEND or child development (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a child with complex Autism, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and monitor personalised support plans.
  • Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Support the child's social and emotional development through structured activities and positive interactions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and the school team to ensure cohesive and effective support.
