Are you a creative and skilled Teaching Assistant with experience in Design Technology and Art? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to support young learners in a moderate learning support school? SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to offer a position for a dedicated individual to join a vibrant SEN school community in Hackney for a 4-week placement - with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching Support: Assist in classroom activities, working closely with teachers to support students in Design Technology and Art lessons.
Technical Assistance: Help set up and maintain equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are in good working order.
Workshop Supervision: Assist with practical sessions by supervising, demonstrating, and providing hands-on support.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all power machines (e.g., band saws, lathes, millers) are safe and well-maintained.
CAD/CAM Setup: Manage and set up all CAD/CAM equipment, including Techsoft 2D Design software and laser cutting.
Ceramics Knowledge: Utilise your experience with ceramics and oversee the kiln firing process.
Stock Management: Monitor materials and equipment, manage orders, and track departmental spending.
Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain up-to-date health and safety records, conduct risk assessments, and adhere to COSHH regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Experience working in a teaching support role within a Design Technology or Art environment.
Background in practical, hands-on design and art-related tasks.
Knowledge of ceramics, kiln firing, and woodwork.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment, including Techsoft 2D Design software and laser cutting.
An enhanced DBS check, as you will be working directly with students.
